Meet New Member Jon Canyon!
Give us a brief summary of your work history – how did you end up where you are?
I joined Axolotl Biologix about 2 years ago. Axolotl Biologix is a biotech manufacturer, and research company for regenerative medicine. Axolotl Biologix is focused on enabling the body’s own cells and tissues to improve the quality of life through research, technology, and enterprise. Axolotl Biologix has a great opportunity to bring options to those who have diabetes and unfortunately, the diabetes epidemic is large in Indian Country. I am truly humbled to be part of a solution to help others.
What has been your favorite project to work on?
A favorite project that I am working on right now with the TEDC is the Tribal Symposium. It has been a great experience working with Robin Reynolds and learning from her experience.
Why did you become an AAED member?
I became a member of AAED because I was looking for an opportunity to become more involved in Indian Country. I was approached to become a member of the Tribal Economic Development Committee and later asked to be Vice Chair of the TEDC.
Tell us something that other members may not know about you.
I wish I had an exciting story to share but if I had to pick something is that I am an Eagle Scout. (I know not very exciting.)
